【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdevelopedtoassesstheperformanceofaheavy-dutyengineoilincontrollingenginewearunderoperatingconditionsselectedtoacceleratesootproductionandvalve-trainwearinaturbochargedandaftercooledfour-cycledieselenginewithslidingtappetfollowersequippedwithexhaustgasrecirculationhardware.Thedesignoftheengineusedinthistestmethodisrepresentativeofmany,butnotall,moderndieselengines.Thisfactor,alongwiththeacceleratedoperatingconditions,shallbeconsideredwhenextrapolatingtestresults.1.1Thistestmethod,commonlyreferredtoastheCumminsISBTest,coverstheutilizationofamodern,5.9L,dieselengineequippedwithexhaustgasrecirculationandisusedtoevaluateoilperformancewithregardtovalve-trainwear.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exceptions8212;SIunitsareprovidedforallparametersexceptwherethereisnodirectequivalentsuchastheunitsforscrewthreads,NationalPipeThreads/diameters,tubingsize,orwherethereisasolesourceofsupplyequipmentspecification.1.2.2SeealsoA8.1forclarification;itdoesnotsupersede1.2and1.2.1.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeAnnexA1forgeneralsafetyprecautions.
