【摘要】:Undercertainconditionsofstress,andinthepresenceofenvironmentssuchassoaps,wettingagents,oils,ordetergents,blow-moldedpolyethylenecontainersmayexhibitmechanicalfailurebycrackingatstressesappreciablybelowthosethatwouldcausecrackingintheabsenceoftheseenvironments.Thistestmethodmeasurestheenvironmentalstress-crackresistanceofcontainers,whichisthesummationoftheinfluenceofcontainerdesign,resin,blow-moldingconditions,posttreatment,orotherfactorsthatcanaffectthisproperty.Threeproceduresareprovidedasfollows:ProcedureA,Stress-CrackResistanceofContainerstoCommercialLiquids-Thisprocedureisparticularlyusefulfordeterminingtheeffectofcontainerdesignonstress-crackresistanceorthestress-crackresistanceofaproposedcommercialpackagecontainingaproprietaryliquidproduct.ProcedureB,Stress-CrackResistanceofaSpecificContainertoPolyoxyethylatedNonylphenol,aStress-CrackingAgent-TheconditionsoftestdescribedinthisprocedurearedesignedfortestingcontainersmadefromTypeIIIpolyethyleneSpecificationD1248.Therefore,thisprocedureisrecommendedforcontainersmadefromTypeIIIpolyethyleneonly.Thisprocedureisparticularlyusefulfordeterminingtheeffectofresinonthestress-crackresistanceofthecontainer.ProcedureC,ControlledElevatedPressureStress-CrackResistanceofaSpecificContainertoPolyoxyethylatedNonylphenol,aStress-CrackingAgent-Theinternalpressureiscontrolledataconstantelevatedlevel.Theseproceduresarenotdesignedtotestthepropensityforenvironmentalstresscrackingintheneckofcontainers,suchaswhentheneckissubjectedtoacontrolledstrainbyinsertingaplug.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Note1-ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8andNotes1and9.
